Pretty lucky to be from LA, which I think has the best sushi in the US (disclaimer: I haven’t had nigiri or sashimi in Hawaii, and I bet it’s really good there). Wasn’t expecting it to be much better than a high end sushi place here, but wow. The fatty tuna and salmon were melt in your mouth. First time having eel with minimal sauce which I’d say is so much better. The Ama Ebi, or raw sweet shrimp was delicious as well. Was not a fan of the Ikura, salmon eggs, had a bit too strong of a flavor whatever alcohol they soaked the eggs in. Uni was actually worse than California, yellow tail and amberjack were better but not by a whole lot. Squid (not pictured) I’m just generally not a fan of, cooked shrimp was delicious. There’s probably better sushi places in Tokyo or Japan, but this spot just happened to be very close to our hotel. Ate some other stuff that I forgot to take a photo of, the mackerel and Spanish Anchovy was also very good. Also had some real wasabi which was delicious. Extremely well priced, wish my traveling party liked raw fish more so that we could have had it for dinner more often.
