Tanoreen has been a local institution for so long – their holiday menus are especially wonderful.

I was not impressed, I think I expected it to be Lebanese food but turned out to be Palestinian. For non Arabs, less sour, more spice heavy.

  3. As it happens, Chef Rawia *just* reissued her cookbook in an extended version with recipes from the restaurant as “Tanoreen”. I was just thinking I need to buy it.

This restaurant is so good, and such a trek

Love Tanoreen, but I didn’t think the knafeh was great. The best one I’ve had recently anywhere near NY is at Yaffa Coffe and Kunafa in Paterson – superb. I got an extra to take home and have as a sandwich with some ka’ak break the next day a la Beirut

Knafeh isn’t that hard to make btw. I make it all the time.

If I had no shame I’d just sit there and get order after order of those brussel sprouts

This is the best dessert in the world! My Dad makes it the best but this is a close second 🙂
