Catholic Charities of Northern Nevada and The Nugget are set to serve more than 1,500 Christmas meals to those in need at St. Vincent’s Dining Room on December 25. The event, which runs from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., is open to everyone without any requirements or reservations.
Marie Baxter, CEO of Catholic Charities, said the annual Christmas gathering is a cherished tradition that aims to nourish both the body and spirit. “It’s a time to enjoy a warm, nutritious meal prepared and served with care, and to share in the joy of the season,” she said.
The menu will include pork ribs, mac & cheese, corn, mashed potatoes, rolls, and apple strudel, all served with holiday cheer. In addition to the meals served at St. Vincent’s, deliveries will be made to the CARES Campus and Reno Behavioral Health.
St. Vincent’s Dining Room has been serving the community for over 60 years, providing an average of 1,500 free meals daily, year-round. The organization welcomes all individuals, regardless of race, religion, or background, with the hope of helping them begin the journey toward relief from poverty and homelessness.
