Newbie gardener and I got some organic butternut squash from sprouts a while back and this is the result! I'm in literal shock!😮 and feel like a total badass! 🙌 zone 10b

I think you want to wait until the stem is brown before you harvest. Your stems are mostly green.
Butternut will keep forever if you store it in a cool dry place.

None of those are ripe. The stems are still green. Those are probably not going to taste very good.

daamn mine aren’t even seedlings yet, something yanked my first sprouts and the dang weather has been unseasonably wet and cold so their replacements are slow. I just finished the last one I had left in the pantry from last season a few weeks ago. We added half of it to a sweet and savory curry, I roasted the other half and put it in the fridge to be used for a quick side dish, omelette filling, etc the rest of the week
