Found this at the grocery store marked down on clearance. This is literally a box of flour and baking soda with instructions for how to make biscuits from scratch. The only difference is that there's a little bit of sugar and even less buttermilk powder.

  1. I mean… that’s pretty much what most baking mixes are, like pancake mixes.

I don’t really think this is stupid food. I mean you’re complaining about the box only having a few ingredients in it, that’s like most other biscuit mix boxes, it’s not uncommon. The Dolly thing is also just branding, they’ve got her on tons of her products, but as far as I know they aren’t making any radical changes to the contents of the boxes for the promotion.

I love Dolly but she doesn’t need to shill all this shit.

So buy a box cake instead? It’s not Pickle Cheesecake stupid.

Literally a box of flour, and all the other things you listed.

So not literally a box of flour.

I had to look up the ingredients.

Bleached Wheat Flour Enriched (Bleached Wheat Flour, Niacin, Reduced Iron, Thiamine Mononitrate, Riboflavin, Folic Acid), Sugar, Buttermilk Powder, Leavening (Sodium Bicarbonate, Sodium Aluminum Phosphate), Contains less than 2% of: Dried Sour Cream (Sour Cream Powder [Cream, Cultures, Lactic Acid], Cultured Nonfat Milk Solids, Citric Acid), Whey, Salt, Soy Protein Concentrate, Soy Protein Isolate, Guar Gum, Soy Lecithin.

    Contains: Wheat, Milk, Soy

The only two things that you have to add is milk and butter. Which are the two ingredients that are wet and can’t reasonably be added to a powder mix. Are you mad you can’t just add water? Have you never read any bakery pre mix before?
