Aramark Collegiate Hospitality introduces MEDI, a Mediterranean dining concept. MEDI is launched in response to student demand for Mediterranean cuisine. The dining solution offers customizable and healthy options, proving popular at pilot institutions.

Aramark Collegiate Hospitality has unveiled MEDI, a Mediterranean dining solution aimed at bringing the vibrant and healthy flavors of the Mediterranean to college campuses nationwide. This introduction comes as a response to the findings of Aramark’s 2024 DiningStyles Survey, which identified Mediterranean cuisine as one of the top three most requested special diets among students.

Jack Donovan, President and CEO of Aramark Collegiate Hospitality, highlighted the importance of responding to student preferences, stating, “We take listening seriously; it allows us to provide the hospitality our campuses deserve.” MEDI has already been successfully piloted at several institutions, including Assumption University and SUNY Polytechnic Institute, where it has been well-received.

Chef Tim Zintz, Director of Culinary Development, emphasized that MEDI offers an “on-trend, plant-forward, relatable, affordable, and flexible option for our guests.” The menu features a variety of bowls, salads, fresh produce, and customizable meal options that start with a base of greens, grains, or grilled naan, with the addition of proteins, seasonal vegetables, and dressings. Signature dishes include the Chicken Shawarma Grain Bowl and Lamb Meatball Bowl.

Feedback from students at these pilot schools has been overwhelmingly positive, with high praise for the menu’s flavors and customization options. George F. Kuntz III, Director of Student Engagement and Leadership at Assumption University, remarked on the positive impact of MEDI, calling it a “wonderful, flavorful, and healthy experience.”

Aramark (ARMK, Financial) continues to expand its innovative dining solutions across more than 275 colleges and universities, enhancing student life through exceptional culinary experiences.
