I’ve used a flame boss 500 for years and love it.

I have the bge one and it works perfectly. It was a gift along with the egg itself, so I didnt have a say in the matter. If I were looking, id probably go with the inkbird
TheWolf_atx
the bge version is just a bge branded flame boss 400 or 500 (don’t remember which). if you are going that route, the flame boss will be cheaper for the exact same item (w/o the bge label on it)
edit to add that I checked and the egg genius is actually cheaper than the Flameboss. so grab that I’d that’s the direction you want to go. I know tons of guys who use the and love them . I know a few who use Inkbird but haven’t really heard much about it.

I have the FireBoard and zero regrets. Software could use a good UX overhaul but it does everything I need it to and quite well!

I’ve got the inkbird and haven’t had any issues.

Same with the INKBIRD. Probably have like 5-6 good smokes on it so far no issues

My flameboss died and I moved to Smobot, very happy with how it works, something else to consider.

This is what I use. Super easy and user friendly. But worth the penny especially if you love to bbq/smoke.
I use the Egg Genius with zero complaints. Had to make a customer service call for something tech-y during setup, but a quick resolution and smooth sailing since.

Egg genius works great. But… and a huge but, it doesn’t work properly on Thanksgiving for me. Supposedly, it’s a network issue. It relies on a server to work.

I’ve had WiFi issues with the BGE branded controller.
SpagNMeatball
I have the thermoworks signals and bellows, it’s great
Dopeydadd
None of the above. Get a FireBoard.

Avoid the BGE one. It seems to lose its configuration just about every time you unplug it. Really frustrating.

The inkbird, love mine I use a portable powerbank with a built-in solar panel to run it and have done a 23 hour smoke and not run out of battery. https://a.co/d/hO3e0jC

I have the InkBird one and I hate it. HATE IT.
I haven’t used it for months so maybe software problems have been fixed.

Fireboard is excellent

I have the inkbird one and am very happy with it. Can’t speak for the other one. Support has been good and I’ve not had any issues with the Android app. Seeing the price I’d buy it again. Don’t expect it to be powerful enough to help start the charcoal… it’s not a very powerful fan but works well keeping temp.

I have the egggenius and would not recommend it because of the server issues on holidays. Find one that works on Bluetooth or learn how to set the temp and forget about it, with a Bluetooth grate thermometer as an alarm. I also found my fire last way longer if I don’t use it.

I have the smobot and EG, both are used quite a bit but the EG is a simpler setup. I’m about to sell the EG once my Combustion Engine arrives, not any fault of the EG, just want a single ecosystem.
