Why are my chia seeds dangling from a spoon


I left these seeds in a coffee cup with a lid that had an opening for a few weeks, and now they dangle from the spoon when I want to pick them up

    Chia seeds can get some kind of pest that leaves little threads sorta like spider webs behind.
