What do we call these weird multi bulbed tomatoes? This is a Bush Early Girl. All the other fruits on this plant are very normal. Anyway I thought this was cool.

A variety called ‘Phil’s Two’ grows like this

It’s a large tomato formed from multiple fused flowers, megabloom.

It’s more common in large varieties, like beefsteaks.

When severe it’s called catfacing. This came from a fasciated blossom. Basically several blossoms fused together so you had several tomatoes grow into one. It’s fun to see and their fruit tends to be bigger but there’s often more issues with bugs or mold or uneven ripening. I pluck most of those blossoms so the plant doesn’t waste the energy unless it’s a mega blossom and I’m just really curious about what’s going to happen.

Many of the world’s largest or heaviest tomatoes were composite fruit like this.
