I travel a lot for work. Im not home more than a couple days at a time lately. Wife wanted a garden and I promised for mothers day and had 48 hourd at home to get it done. Fell short only the door, a little more rock inside and final backfill

For the part that bothers me most… straight wood doesn't exist. The bottom is square the top is square but if I pull the vertical 2×4 into square they deformed the top amd door frame. Not sure how I'll fix it but for now the critical parts are good. The base, the top, and most importantly the door fram is square.

For what its worth I have zero carpentry experience. I had a drill, a level, a 6inch square with 45 angle, and a baby mil circ saw.

Heh, yep. Even in fine woodworking, we buy our wood, let it warp, and then mill it down to square/straight. And then, we build assuming it will warp s’more.

This looks amazing, post it to /r/BeginnerWoodWorking and you’ll get some awesome feedback.

I would be over the moon if my husband even contemplated doing anything of this magnitude for me – you did great and I’m sure your wife is very happy! Bonus points for the drip irrigation as now she won’t have to water and hopefully everything will survive and thrive through the summer.

Looks great. A book I read about carpentry said, “Your building a house, not a piano.”

Are those cukes on the right? Is it ok to keep them clumped together in the 4-lot they come from the store in??? Cause I separated mine and they hated the root disturbance and did not recover from transplant shock. But like, since when are we supposed to plant things clumped?

    disappointing

you are very lazy and a poor gardener.

if you’re going to half-ass it like this, why even bother to sow seeds?

Yeah I was going to say that looks amazing to me and you know don’t worry about the fine carpentry details as long as everything fits together and is not like the leanung Tower of Pisa or even if it is what does it really matter the main point is this it looks good it’s functional easy to get to protected I think it’s amazing!
