I’m eating Costco pizza rn with Crystal louisiana hot sauce and I want to know, what’s everyone’s favorite hot sauce, I like this because they changed the flavor of Tabasco so now this is my new favorite.

Stargazer by Pepper North. My favorite by far, and I see they are releasing a new one for the new season of Hot Ones, so I’m super excited about that as well!

Well my standard answer is Valentina black label, but these days I’ve been reaching for Yucataco red habanero for pretty much everything. I don’t know what took me so long to come around on this hot sauce but it’s really hitting the spot lately

Crystal is so close to Tabasco. My dad fights me on it every time. I will die on this hill.
Regardless, for the non ultra hot spectrum? Franks extra hot is the one. I put that shit on everything.

Crystal with something like red beans and rice or chili. Texas Pete with stuff like chic fila fries. Tabasco every now and then mixed in. Rouses markets store brand isn’t bad either.

It’s hard to say one single favorite because I have different favorites for different foods but if I could only have one I guess it’d be yellow bird habanero. It goes pretty well on anything imo.
DiogenesHavingaWee
Tabasco Scorpion, unless I want something dumpable. Then it’s either Tapatio or Louisiana, depending on whether or not I want some vinegar.

Crystal is classyc but it cant be your favorite, thays like saying your favorite burger is a mcdouble. Yeah we all kill them and want more but its just not “all time” tier
So my favorite is probably gonna be something like green chutney, or perhaps this chutney like salsa verde my daughter happens to make, or perhaps tomatillo salsa, or even just my own Sinaloa salsa de habanero.
I havw a pantry full of “american hot sauce” and we run through them, and i grav some boutique styled stuff pretty regularly besides all the staples, but tbh the american style hot sauces dont vary all that much. Even sriracha, which has beckme super westernized to the point of bring essentially chili ketchup, doesnt have mucj variety in super market inventory anywau.
In terms of heavy lifting, its gotta be Tapatio. Its kind of hypocritical to blast crystal and choose tapatio b it im not running for office, and i say tapatio is the most versatile of pretty much all hot sauces. You can marinate with it, use it as a base, add it to breading, make it with dressing, put it on virtually every food (without totally changjng and overwhelming it), and it goes good in a lot of deserts and drinks that vinegar sauces just wont. Its beautiful because its like the nail in a hardware store. Yes there are way more interesting and expensive thinfs there, but when you need to build a house you still cant beat it

Right now I’m on a Tia lupita kick for all things Mexican. It’s like Taco Bell sauce on steroids.

Depends on what I’m eating. Cholula and the Mayan yucatecca xxx habanero are both great for breakfast. For chicken or sandwiches heartbeat makes a pineapple habanero that’s amazing. I also make hot sauces and my latest favorite has been roasted guajillo with peach.

It depends on both what I’m putting in on and my feeling at the time. For instance, Mexican (and similar flavor profiles) usually have me lean toward Tapatío, but if I’m craving something hotter then that can change. Pizza varies with toppings, and so on.
Basically, I’m very grateful for the easy access to the variety of hot sauces available these days. Even 20 years ago the question – for me – was “do I want hot sauce for this?”
