    It’s real. Looks like an andesite. Not an unusual rock to make into a molcajete.

    The test is always to fill with a little water and see if it holds it after like half an hour. Cement will seep through

    If you want to know you’re getting a real, authentic molcajete buy from Rick Bayless’ website. That thing is definitely legit and you can tell instantly.
