Hello my Fellow Pepper Gardeners! This year i started with my First ever Pepper Grow!
I’m currently growing a spicy mix of Carolina Reaper, Sugar Rush Stripey, Peppapeach Stripey, Lemon Drop, and Chocolate Cherry. It’s my first season really going deep into chili genetics, and I’ve got a few plans to try some crosses this summer (like Sugar Rush Stripey × Lemon Drop and maybe a Chocolate Cherry × Reaper if I’m brave enough).
So I’d love to ask:
1. Have you ever tried crossing baccatum with chinense – any real success stories or tips?
What are your wildest chili hybrids you’ve made or dreamed of?
Any tips for making the plants thrive pre-flowering (especially in pots, outdoors)?
I’m all about flavor and heat, so I’m aiming for wild looks, sweet-hot profiles, and possibly a new favorite sauce base.
Let’s share setups, cross ideas, mistakes, wins – and maybe even plant names for imaginary breeds.
Appreciate every bit of advice – and can post updates if anyone’s curious how the crosses go!
