I think these are the first to be ready from this plant. they are big for being cherry tomato. I grabbed them before an animal eats them

Hard to say, honestly looks like sunscald, but maybe just how they come sometimes.
Did they come off easily? And are they soft at all?

Yes. The point of homegrowing tomatoes is to let them ripen on the vine and pick at peak ripeness.

They will ripen further inside safe from critters that want to steal them. There’s no taste difference between a fully vine-ripened tomato and a tomato picked after its color has begun to change that is then ripened inside.

if they are sungolds that about right. but set them on the counter, and give theme a squeeze each day, youll learn what a ripe tomato feels like.

Seems you have 2 at least. Why not try one now and make a note of how it tastes? And leave one to ripen a few days and see how that one compares? Of course it would be subjective as you’re not tasting one straight after the other, but maybe you could try to control the test somewhat by maybe drinking some water and having a small piece of bread first? Give them a mark out of ten and see if you think there’s a difference..? Just an idea for fun, would love to hear your results!

Not at all. Once they start turning yellow/orange it’s best to harvest. The plant isn’t going to give them much at that point and it’s best to let it give its energy to other parts. They’ll continue to ripen over the coming days and be just as delicious.
