Comedian Ricky Gervais posted to Instagram while on his Mortality tour in the UK, showcasing a $25 South Australia wine as one of his backstage essentials.
Gervais posted a photo on Instagram to his 4.2 million followers featuring his must-have items while backstage, which included a packet of KP Original nuts, a bowl of fruit and the Château Tanunda Grand Barossa Shiraz 2022.
In the caption, Gervais joked that his needs were not met due to a lighting decision failure:
“I am a megastar. So I need things to be right. Just got to my dressing room at The Alban Arena for tonight’s #Mortality show & they’ve lit the fruit all wrong. Unbelievable.”

Jumping on the opportunity, PR agents acting on behalf of Château Tanunda eagerly shared the news with media, and added further detail about the wine.

“The Grand Barossa Shiraz 2022 is sourced from Château Tanunda’s vineyard sites across the Barossa in South Australia. Fruit spends 18 months in French and American oak barrels resulting in aromas of black berry, plum and pepper with notes of spicy, dark berry and fruit on the palate.”
