You’re going to knock the plate onto the floor if you’re not careful.

If those are baked beans from the US then they will be obscenely over sweetened and are not the same as UK baked beans, which are still a little sweet but noticeably more savoury. They are different beasts

beans look very runny, cook them in a saucepan for 5-10 mins so they thicken up nicely. Add bacon and a sprinkle of cheese on top, my hangover cure.

You didn’t do it wrong…
But you didn’t do it *right* either..

Black pepper is a must.
Toast looks spot on for texture but I’d have it visibly “over buttered” if I was whacking beans on there.
5/10.. room for improvement, but all the basics have been met..

add pepper, and maybe those beans need more more time cooking, but its not bad at all like 7/10. also please move the table onto a table its half on air

I always liked this more with beans cooked down to nearly a paste, especially USA baked beans. Makes for a sweet bean spread rather than juicy bean mess on toast

“Did I do this right” only if you are talking about where you posted it.

Not a brit, but yes you did. I eat this often but I drown my heavily buttered toast in the beans.

The toast for beans on toast is just to help the delivery of the beans into your mouth. You eat it with a fork and knife.

Your breads gonna be soggy af. You need to cook it down with the lid off for a bit. Try putting a light layer of butter on your bread… the toast will remain crunchy as you eat. Add some extra ingredients to it like cheese/bacon bits/mushrooms , whatever you like. That’s how we do it in the UK these days.

Toast is a big soft, but pretty much.

More butter, add cheese, looks good.

Definitely wrong tin of beans can tell that sauce isn’t the same and it will make a massive difference.

Cheese on top , Worcester sauce in the beans.. if you want to flirt with Brit scorn 1 tsp of ketchup makes them more like Heinz beans in tomato sauce, just don’t tell or they might hunt you down. I married a Brit.

If you want the full experience, you’ll want to use Heinz or Watties beans from the UK. They are very bland, which British people seem to enjoy. I’ve had beans on toast with the proper beans, and it isn’t anything special. It isn’t some magic combination of flavors, it’s in fact just bland beans and bread. About as high brow as eating uncooked Top Ramen. I regret paying the import premium for those shitty beans. I could have just gotten plain beans and added a tiny drop or two of sugar free ketchup to the bean juices in the can, and it likely would have tasted identical.

Butter the toast, whack some grated cheese on top
If your feeling really brave, marmite on the toast as well

This reminds me of the Benny Hill skit where he orders Three Beans on Toast and the waitress brings him a piece of toast with three little beans on it. I miss Benny Hill.

Toast needs butter, beans need to be cooked in a saucepan until thick, I prefer some grated cheddar to take it up a notch as well as a few grinds of black pepper, plate needs a better centre of gravity as well. Otherwise ok.
