I love it on chicken, especially fried chicken.

  2. Chronarch01

Good choice. It is one of my favorite hot sauces.

  3. potliquorz

Crystal versus Louisiana versus Texas Pete.

They are all nicely flavored vinegar.

My dad and I would eat our frozen taquitos with crystal and at this point it’s my preference when eating them. That’s really all I use it for but always brings back memories

  5. petridish21

It’s good. It isn’t hot enough (or at all really) to be a great hot sauce though.

  6. Appropriate_Air_2029

Marinate some chicken in Crystal hot sauce before you shake ’n’ bake it. Chef’s kiss!

  7. Budget_Secret4142

This is my morning eggs and toast sauce. It’s no frills, and delicious

  8. I discovered Crystal last year on a business trip to NOLA. Love the stuff. Perfect when I need to perk up a dish or a sauce.

  9. hambonecharlie

This sauce was a school cafeteria staple 50 years ago

  10. Appropriate_Air_2029

Nothing like Crystal hot sauce on a hard boiled egg. YUUUMMM!

  11. JoshuaErrett

Totally agree. Love Tabasco and Louisiana is just under that but first thing I’m teaching for is Crystal.

  12. 3shotsofwhatever

I don’t have Crystal at my local grocery so I ordered online. I got a regular and the extra hot. I never knew they had an extra hot. It’s not super spicy at all. Both are very good.

  13. Crystal is the Arizona Tea of the hot sauce world. What I mean by that, is you can pick up a big bottle of Crystal for like… $1.29. In a world where prices on EVERYTHING are absolutely out of control, Crystal and Arizona Tea are two companies that *refuse* to fuck people over chasing profits for stock holders. I applaud Crystal for staying so darn cheap. The fact that Crystal actually has AMAZING flavor is just the cherry on top.

The stuff is straight up magic. Perfect for fried chicken. New Orleans (Metarie actally) finest!

  15. witblacktype

For fried chicken, Crystal and Louisiana are the only 2 correct options.

  16. Winter-Classroom455

Ah, a fellow hot sauce and pizza rolls connoisseur

  17. FollowTheLeader550

I feel like Crystal should be used for seafood/oysters, and only seafood/oysters.

  18. Mattjew24

Its alright. Good flavor. Quite mild. Supposedly, its killer on Cajun seafood.

Me? I go with Tabasco or Franks typically

  19. Skyline8888

I really like Crystal on sardines. So good. Franks is ok on sardines too, but Crystal is just right.

  20. AqueductFilterdSherm

Had to double check what subreddit this was posted in for a second… hahaha

But yeah crystal is amazing especially on chicken salad wraps

  21. ALWanders

It has great flavor, I would like it to be much hotter, but I do like the flavor.

  22. DJHickman

It’s like if someone capable actually finished Tabasco.

  23. DopeyDeathMetal

It really is the perfect hot sauce when you think about it

  24. Bluewater795

Out of all hot sauces I’ve tried it simply tastes the best. I wish it was hotter, though. I need to find the xtra hot version because it isn’t sold in any stores around me.

  25. As a native New Orleanian, it’s my firm belief that Crystal is the platonic form of hot sauce. Nothing better on a shrimp poboy or a bowl of red beans and rice.

  26. whostillusesusername

Right?! My coworker insisted I try it. She ended up buying me a bottle! Greatest gift I’ve ever received! 😜 ok, maybe not the best gift ever, but definitely life changing. So good!

  27. Dear-Smile

It uh….gets the job done, I guess. I have a bottle of extra hot. I like it better.

  28. membershipholder

Nope. Louisiana is way better. Same class of cheap. But better. The blue and yellow label

  29. johnnyribcage

See a lot of crystal glazing around here lately. It’s fine.

  30. Maleficent-Thanks-85

I love it. I like to use it as a base for anything with heat just for the flavor. I prefer more heat so I’ll use crystals and mix with a hotter sauce.
