Is that it? No dips, no sides? Just chicken on rock? Is this 4000 BC?

That seems to be a chicken croqueta, which in essence is a bechamel with some filling (chicken meat is common), coated with breacrumbs and deep fried. Very typical in Spain, usually served without sauces, specially small portions like this.
The lack of a proper plate is not too bad here I’d say.

not seen chicken shaped like that on a slate before.
knife scrapes on slate just as bad as a butter dish scrape you know the ones that make you go back to school with nails on blackboards!

Those fancy chicken tendies look a lot like chicken Vienna sausages in Shake-and-Bake.

It’s croquettes. And can be eaten with just your hands, no cutlery or even plate needed. I live in the Netherlands, land of the croquettes (yeah, they exist in other countries too, I know).
