The setup wasnt exactly ideal but it got the job done. Bit more rare than my usual but it was such a quality ribeye that it still tasted incredible

I’ve been trying to convince my friends and family that Maine is a spot to check out.

Just up there, in the corner, minding your own business. Acting like there ain’t nothing to see here.

Cant for the life of me figure out why you needed a pan?

Photos of the lake are great. Sounds like a awesome trip.

Using the word “cooked” awfully loosely

  6. But….that huge metal grate….that would leave yummy marks on that nice piece of cow….WHY THE PAN, MAN?!

ah… the smell of the camp fire, the peace that comes from the silence with little crackles of flame. It’s just you and nature.

    Good for you.

Braver than me, I don’t think I’ll be campfire cooking a steak for a long time. Definitely rarer steak than I aim for, but if it hit the spot for you then that’s what matters, and if not use it as a learning experience!

Gorgeous pics of the area, makes me miss camping. May your next trip (and steak) be even better!

Not a prime rib. Which is also different from a prime ribeye, which this also isn’t. And this is full on raw.

  10. Well she’s blue, hope u had a thermometer that checked out but seeing as youre up and posting, I’m sure it was nice and tasty and just fine overall even if its not my personal preference.

Lots going on here. The debate on rare vs blue vs raw. Also, the whole prime rib, rib eye, New York strip thing.

But, of the only thing that matters is if you enjoyed it.

IMHO, it’s New York and blue to raw in the center. 7/10 I’d eat and not share. 2 pts cause New York strip ain’t my favorite. 1 for being a little under for me, but rather under than over.
