I’m sure it’s not perfect but I’m very happy with how it came out. It was a top sirloin with salt pepper and garlic seared in each side and edges for about 3 minutes on a pan around 410 degrees, then lowered the heat and added / basted with butter for a few more minutes. I wish I pulled it like 30 seconds earlier but overall a good learning experience.

My wife wanted hers well done so I am not posting that here lol.

Nice! I don’t think you pulled it too late. Looks great.

  6. Damn.. that’s what I target.. I’d side it differently, but if it just the steak, A+.

steak looks dang good for a sirloin. but let’s talk about those potatoes.

  8. By all means, it looks a bit tasty, but I do like mine a bit rarer. I ask for medium rare at restaurants, and if they do it properly it’s gonna be much more pink. To be honest, if I do these home, I do 2 minutes on each sides. Sometimes they’re too raw, sometimes they’re good. Also sort of depends on how stringly the meat is too.

Yum! It feels great to cook a great steak! I also oblige family with their preferences in doneness and it’s much appreciated.
