I’ve done this, it came out with an oddly consistent texture on the surface. Steak was great though, and yours looks good too

  2. TheAssholeBlogger

The results look amazing. 10/10. The crust is perfect and the steak is medium rare. Just how I like it.

  3. MihammidPanda

Air fryer is just a mini oven, so yes it works, u just did reverse searing

  4. pumpupthevaluum

Honestly, that looks pretty good!!! That’s kinda crazy! I have a toaster oven with an air fryer function (basically super convection) that I use to par-cook the steak before sear, and I was just wondering what it would be like if I finished it with the air fryer. Maybe I’ll give it a try!

  5. Chaotic_Brutal90

That’s basically just reverse seating it. But that’s still cool.

  6. MikeHockeyBalls

I’ll use the air frier to cook it for a reverse sear if my oven is occupied with vegetables cooking at a higher temp. Realistically it’s just a smaller oven hahaha

  7. I’ve done it with burgers before I had my grill. Worked really well.

Hey man, I got two 400 gr Entrecôte, would love to test one of them with my air fryer, may I ask about the settings you set it with? Minutes and temp would be great! That looks awesome btw

First time I got an air fryer, I used it for a filet at 450.

About 4-5 min on each side and got a nice Medium that was still juicy

  10. JWheezy11

I’ve tried once and overcooked it, haven’t tried again yet

  11. TomboyHomie

    Yessss.

Only I cut my steak into “bites” and throw ’em in a RIPPING hot air fryer. (The basket kind.)

2 mins, open it and shake.

    2 mins, pull, rest.

No need to sear in a pan. If the air fryer’s crazyhot, there’s a sear.

    Kicks ass. So easy.

  12. Abi_giggles

Looks great! How long did you cook it and at what temp?

  13. ChiefHNIC

If I’m making one steak, I almost always use my air fryer…however, I use the air broil setting on my ninja. There is of course the standard air fryer setting. Which setting did you use?

  14. AMCAPEHODLER

That’s so raw bro….. How can anyone eat rare or medium rare? Well done or nothing.

  15. DrewTheeePir8

I have not thought of this, but it looks like it turned out perfectly!

  16. Dependent_Arm5878

I would say I now air fry steak more than I grill it. Smoking hot sear in a pan and then right in the air fryer

  17. BigThistyBeast

Imo, it’s the best way to make a steak. Sear mine on the griddle for a few minutes each side and finish in the air fryer

  18. nftalldude

It’s a great way to cook if I’m just doing one steak for myself. The fat doesn’t quite get as soft as i would like but the meat itself is pretty good

  19. House_Junkie

I work with a guy that air fry’s x2 1.5-2” steaks everyday in the break room. They always look great

  20. darlingbull26

Please tell us your cook/time settings for this one, OP!

  21. Own_Platform623

Yes and I recommend freezing the steaks first so they stay medium rare (or whatever preference) while developing a good crust.

  22. I’ve done this with great results. I wouldn’t do it when making a special meal centered around my steak, but some form of steak is a common quick meal for me.

I also use it to slow roast a nice steak before.after searing. AND, as someone else mentioned, cut into bit sized pieces, toss it around for a quick steak bite meal.

  23. RobMo_sculptor

Sure did. Never again. I prefer my kettle.

  24. DopeSickScientist

Looks great. I’ve bought 2 air dryers and both made my food taste like plastic. Even did a dry run for a couple of hours before using them.

  25. Nope. I love the air fryer, but I’ve never been a fan of cooking steaks via convection. Ive been doing a traditional sear in cast iron or a grill, then finishing with a butter basting for over 20 years. If it ain’t broken, and all that.

  26. TheDeadTyrant

My air fryer gets lower than my oven (and is smaller/more energy efficient), so I’ll use the dehydrate setting at like 150°F to get it to where I want internally, then sear in a skillet or on the blackstone. Works out pretty well.

  27. FederalRelative750

This looks great but my father would call to have me arrested if I did this 😭

  28. KCFlightHawk

    That’s a big roger!

I’ve got a cosori, and I use the metal accessory tray to elevate the steak closer to the heat source. Steak on top of half cooked potatoes. I allow the steak drippings to fall onto the potatoes.

Six to eight minutes at 400 for the steak(rare/medium rare), depending upon cut thickness and how loaded the tray is overall. Can apply to anything underneath, mushrooms, carrots, zucchini.

All in one meal done within 15-20 minutes, and then resting the streak. If someone lives an apartment this is tough to beat.

  29. SimplisticEnigma

Next time do them from frozen at 400. I love them this way when I don’t want to start charcoal.

  30. Ok-Arm5993

Yeah it works great, I live in an RV, so this is how most of my food is cooked. In an air fryer

  31. Damn. Thats quite a job well done by the air fryer.
