Not at all. Just outta curiosity though, which location is this overpriced meat at? I umm want to avoid it. đź‘€

That’s about normal for Costco brisket here (Texas) right now. Prices are up. The long term average is probably closer to $3.50/lb with frequent drops to $2.99/lb.
BoxTalk17
That’s the exact size I’ll need for the 4th, getting two of those jokers. Hopefully I can get a good price on them.
Bearspoole
That’s about the normal prices I see at Costco. But still a steal! Prime briskets go for 7-10 bucks at other butcher shops in my area
musty_towels
$4.99 prime $3.99 choice is my local Costco’s price. I usually wait until Kroger has it on sale for $2.99 (choice)
BucketteHead
I normally see $4.99/lb for prime briskets at Costco.
_ParadigmShift
For me that’s a pretty normal price. What I expect to pay when I see Costco has some prime.
Dadabedada
Yes, might have to leave work and go check Costco here.
Testtubeteen88
That would be a great price in Chicagoland.

$5 a pound for Costco prime is about right. I like to get 12-13 pounders, so this fits the bill.
TummyDrums
Likely depends where you are. Where I’m at in Missouri, that’s more expensive than we’ve had for some time. Prime is like $4.50/lb and choice is $4/lb. Also 12lbs is fairly small for a whole packer, so the overall price might seem much better, but that is deceiving.

Steal, no. Normal price, yes. Should you buy it? Also yes!

$5/lb is pretty normal. Sometimes you can get it for $3.50 or $4/lb and that’s when you’d do well to grab one or two.
I like to compare brisket with ground beef and when there’s a big price difference, I’ll buy it just to grind it for hamburger.
boimilk
that’s your standard prime brisket price at costco. a steal in my book, just another day at costco though!
gloe64
Normal price in Indiana.
ruthless_anon
4.99 at my business center in MN

I just picked up a choice brisket for the same price that looks 10x better. I would not purchase that particular brisket.

Really tiny for a brisket. Might come out dry
PudgyPenguinPhil
