CINCINNATI (WKRC) – The Cincinnati Museum Center has a new recipe for fun, and it opens Saturday, February 1.

Julia Child: A Recipe for Life celebrates the life and legacy of the culinary icon.

People can delve into interactive exhibits that document her early life, relationship to husband Paul, her culinary works, and her time working in the Office of Strategic Services, the U.S. intelligence agency during World War II and a precursor to the Central Intelligence Agency.

Using excerpts from her cookbooks, guests can learn how to pair dishes with wine and sides, and find their favorite recipes from her book Mastering the Art of French Cooking in a larger-than-life projection that comes to life with text and illustrations.

Guests can even step into a replica TV studio of the set for her cooking show, “The French Chef”, which debuted in 1962.

Julia and Paul’s love letters and iconic Valentine’s Day cards, complete with their famous bathtub photo, are on display. Guests can pose in a bathtub as a photo-op.

It’s all meant to immerse guests in the life of one of the 20th century’s greatest chefs and her philosophy of “happy accidents” in the kitchen:

“No one gets a recipe right the first time, you’re always tweaking it a little bit. Her thing was just to get in there, try it, and enjoy the process,” said Cody Hefner, spokesman for the Cincinnati Museum Center.

You can catch Julia Child: A Recipe for Life beginning February 1 until May 18.
