The Margaret River region has been selected as the first ever Australian host for The World’s 50 Best Vineyards awards, taking place in November 2025.

The awards celebrate vineyards that excel in combining quality wine, food, and visitor experiences around the world. Secured through Tourism Western Australia (WA), the event presents a major opportunity to strengthen Australia’s global reputation for culinary excellence and nature-based tourism.

“Welcoming The World’s 50 Best Vineyards awards in Margaret River is a proud moment for Western Australia and reflects our growing global profile as a leader in premium tourism and hospitality offerings,” said tourism minister Reece Whitby.
“The Margaret River region’s international reputation for outstanding wine, food and natural beauty makes it the ideal setting for this prestigious global event.”

Coinciding with the awards, the Pair’d Margaret River festival will return for its second year shortly after. Launched in 2024, the festival attracted over 1,000 visitors and generated more than $2 million for the South West region.

This year, the four-day festival will celebrate Australian wine, food and music. It will feature local wineries and collaborations between the region’s acclaimed chefs, winemakers and sommeliers.

Both events represent a valuable opportunity to promote Australian food and wine to a global audience. By attracting industry leaders and international media, they are expected to drive economic growth and boost the local tourism industry.

“Hosting these awards is a strong vote of confidence in our tourism industry and highlights the beauty of our regional destinations – we look forward to welcoming global media, wine experts and representatives from vineyards around the world to experience it firsthand and inject millions in visitor spend into the economy,” Whitby added.

The World’s 50 Best Vineyards awards will take place on 19 November 2025.

The Pair’d Margaret River festival will follow from 20–23 November 2025.
