Top down view of this huge plate! Was so full after inhaling it all

$15 actually seems a little on the high side. I would have guess $12. Then again, it is much bigger than the ones I usually get.

There were a few nights in Japan that I did this. The selection is huge and the vibe I got from the rest of the grocery store was it was a pretty normal grocery store, ie not like a fancy supermarket like Whole Foods or Plum Market in the US. I want to say we spent about $30 usd for 4 or 5 different trays and we were stuffed.

I spent 3 months on a fellowship at University of Tokyo while I was doing my PhD.
Konbini sushi (and all Konbini food really) punches way above its weight. One of my favorite memories is getting supermarket sushi and a shit ton of snacks with my Japanese lab mates and watching Train to Busan on a campus projector in a lecture hall.

Just goes to show that everything is overpriced in the US. This is a $50+ plate.
I miss this so much 🙁
I’d love to spend $15 on 1/3 of this
