Purple veggies are higher in anthocyanin—a super beneficial type of polyphenol antioxidant that aids in immune system support. Your daughter made a very healthy request for your garden 😁

I’ve added a lot of purple in my garden this year too 😀

Last year I grew Royal Burgundy beans and they were the tastiest I’ve had yet. Growing them again this year along with trionfo Violetta and Merveille du Piémont.

Also have a rainbow mix of carrots that has purple ones, and the same for tomatoes.

lolla rossa and merveille four seasons lettuces

    Eggplant

And I have a black raspberry bush

Yep. We’re growing lilac bell peppers, purple majesty potatoes, and purple sweet potatoes this year.

Ha, my son requested a Purple garden last year.
Purple radishes, lettuces and peas so far. Beans, cabbage, tat Choi, carrots, broccoli, sweet potatoes, Irish potatoes, and cauliflower, along with a few tomatoes and peppers in our garden Annex.

    It’s been fun.

Sooooo many excellent purple veggies. Several peppers, purple kales, berries, there is of course the gmo purple cherry tomato as well as the various purple skinned heirlooms, purple sweet potatoes, purple regular potatoes, if you are in a warm enough zone try passion fruit! Lots of purple fruits on that

Oh wow!  Very cool!  Do they taste any different?

  7. i’ve found that purple leaf plants just aren’t as hardy. every variety of purple lettuce i’ve tried just doesn’t grow as well as a regular romaine, and the purple basil i’ve tried multiple times never keeps up with your regular varieties.

What the heck is this egg plant pepper cross that’s so cool though! Seriously thought it was a weird eggplant lol

What?!? All mine were duds last year! Good for you guys.

  10. Eat them raw! If you cook them, they turn a weird greyish blue color.
