With elegant interiors and authentic French cuisine, Jolene’s offers a European escape in downtown West Chester.

Jolene’s, a relatively new restaurant in downtown West Chester, offers residents a Parisian dining experience right in Chester County, writes Ed Williams for Maine Line Today.

Started by restaurateur Josh McCullough, Jolene’s features an authentic French menu with sleek interior design for an elevated dining experience. The name was inspired by McCullough’s wife’s favorite cousin.

Jolene’s is housed in what was originally a 19th-century saloon. The physical space features gold-embellished artwork, leather seating, and muted tones throughout, with Impressionist artwork loaned from a local art collector.

The restaurant aims for true French meals. Manager Glennon Travis spent summers in France throughout his childhood. Meanwhile, executive chef Craig Russel uses seasonal ingredients to create dishes using smaller portion sizes.

Menu items include Regiis Ova Ossetra caviar, garlicky escargot, seared foie gras, and French onion soup. Specialty drinks include the La Polome, a cocktail made with tequila, grapefruit, and lime, and the French 29, made with gin, lemon, and bubbly.

After dinner, the menu also features decadent desserts as well as coffee and tea. Dessert items include the crème brûlée topped with seasonal fruit, as well as mousse au chocolat and tarte tatin.
