Short of flying to Paris, this is the real deal. I can’t express how fortunate I feel as a foodie to have access to an authentic French bakery experience in my hometown.

My favorite bread has to be the Gruyère demi-baguette. Imagine the best baguette you’ve ever tasted slathered in melted sharp cheese. All it needs is quality butter and a slice of good fatty ham to make yourself a jambon-beurre. Did I mention they sell sticks of imported French butter?

When my sweet tooth pangs, it’s hard to choose just one of Christophe’s incredible pastries. Some of my go-tos are the butterscotch-pecan twist, the almond croissant, and the classic pain au chocolat.

Do yourself a favor and visit Peninsula Pastries. Look for the line of hungry people and the 1963 Ford Thunderbird parked outside.
