I have the opportunity to go, but it's very expensive, but it's also a cancer research fundraiser, so I might do it. They are selling this as once in a lifetime, so, thoughts?

Say “YES”!

Out of curiosity how expensive are we talking? This is a pretty nutty wine tasting.
Dire_Platypus
Those are just about all once-in-a-lifetime wines, I’d say. Unless you’re one of the few insanely rich people who hang around here
nikodmus
Yes, all of those wines are once in a lifetime for even an above average consumer/collector.
As awesome as they all would be, that Drouhin Montrachet tastes like what I imagine unicorn cum to be like—absolutely utterly ethereal.
Go!
Witty_Height_8535
Holy shit. where is this? 1945 Latour…wow.
DesotoVice
That is an extraordinary opportunity. You could lure somms into a van with just about any 3 of those.

Basically all of these are once-in-a-lifetime wines. A decent slice of the greatest wines ever made. $10k CAD is a lot of money though
wine_oh
If you’ve got the money, do it. Unicorn blood is worth it.

Ok, I’m on the waitlist. I was too slow and it’s full, but someone might back out.

Almost all of these wines are extremely rare or prohibitively expensive to taste. The ’45 Château Latour is especially rare. Jump on tasting it if you can.

Not saying this one is or is not real. But more broadly what % of victory vintage first growths on offer today do people think are real vs forgeries?
Fuddle
If you have to ask, you can’t afford it. As this is for charity, the idea is you can write off the $10k as a charity on your taxes
Also, the thing about “once in a lifetime wines” is they make them every year
Deep_Thinkin
With 200% tariffs I’d say they are all once in another lifetime.

Lol, I got that invite too. I wish I could go but it’s a bit outside my budget.
Bdowns_770
I’ve had the 82 Latour. It was sublime.

G, just the tache is like min 5-6K

Yes, these are once in a lifetime wines unless you are a multi-millionaire/billionaire who is incredibly well connected in the wine world.
