hi I’m Grammy and welcome to my kitchen today I’m going to be making corn beef hash I hope you enjoy it corn beef hash was one of my favorite breakfasts when I was a kid and so it has some Nostalgia for me and it tastes good so you start off with a hot Skillet with a lid add your three tablespoons of butter and then sauté a half of an onion that’s been minced very finely cook it until it is transparent and after you do that you’re going to be adding the corn beef to render slightly now this recipe is very old it’s a lot older than Grammy it is goes way way back and I know this was like a favorite uh meal of the Depression era but um that’s I think why it came through to myself a papa because it just was something our parents really loved so you render some of the fat of the corn beef as you can see me doing in the right now and as it renders you only need to cook it for about 5 to 10 minutes add your cooked chopped potatoes mix everything thoroughly so that it is well Incorporated and you’ll notice I do season a couple times through making this because potatoes take a lot of seasoning especially some salt um to get a good flavor you’re going to cook the hash until it Browns on the bottom and then flip it make dents for each of your eggs and put an egg in each Dent then season the eggs you’re going to put a lid on it and let it cook for a few moments uh I use a knife to go through the whites to help them cook a little faster replace the lid and cook till your eggs are to the consistency you like and then serve and then I’ve course I’m always going to go to my favorite tester papa papa what do you think of my corn beef hash this is a corn beef hash with an egg on top and uh fits right in with the month and here we go well it’s kind of a sweet flavor it’s very good um good job Grammy this is awesome again it’s one of my favorite U please don’t forget to subscribe

  1. I never realized how easy this was to make. My grandma, who went through the depression, used to make this with not only corned beef but left over roast beef. I can't wait to try this once again as I haven't had this since I was a little girl. This 70 year old thanks you so very much.
