I had bought some thai chilli flavoured tempeh thins. Tried this recipe with that.
Ingredients
Tempeh thins – 7
Onions – 2 – cubed
Capsicum – 1 – cut in to squares
Garlic – 10 cloves – chopped
Oil
Red chilli sauce – 2tsp
Tomato sauce – 3 tsp
Soy sauce – 1 tsp
Schezwan sauce – 1 3/4 tsp
I pan fried the tempeh thins in some oil first.
Then , In a pan , added 2 -3 tsp of oil , added the chopped garlic , then cubed onions and capsicum. Fried them for about 4-5 mins. Added all the sauces. Mixed and fried them for a minute . Then added the fried tempeh in this. Gave it all a good mix and let the tempeh sit in for 3-4 mins to absorb flavours. Then switched off the stove. The dish was ready.
This is my first time cooking tempeh and this recipe turned out to be good. I was a bit hesitant about trying tempeh. But with right flavouring tempeh tastes good. It's not some over the top delicious stuff , but when cooked right it's has a decent taste.
