First time ever cooking these. My local butcher had some and figured why not try something different for my holiday bbq.

We always slice and fry them. Not sure how the texture would be smoked/BBQed. Good luck.

And remove the outer membrane before cooking. It’s like a nut inside a nutsack. Inside a scrotum.

  2. You got a lot of balls trotting these out for a BBQ

I think the only way to cook these is to insert the balls into the mouth of a bacon wrapped gator

    Here’s a tip.

Throw them out and buy some ribs.

Some things aren’t worth trying, these fall into that category.

Can you post a picture of these sliced open? I’d imagine they would be chewy and stringy. Make sure to serve with a white bbq sauce.

  7. Rocky Mountain Oysters!

I have only had them fried – breaded in flour and fried in lard.

    They are delicious

Well this post is a 1 of 1 and I thought iguanas were unique here.

  10. As a freshman in high school, I ate one of these raw for $5. Every year for a fundraiser the FFA chapter put on a calf fry. We were preparing them for the deep fryer. Anyway, probably wasn’t the best idea but I lived.

If you’ve got them eat them.
    Take two they’re small!

Love mountain oysters, but never tried them on the grill. Usually, sliced, breaded and deep fried. Anybody have a recipe?

  13. You have to slice and scrape out the inside meat. Do not cook whole. Look up a YouTube video.

Well, the trick is you’ve got to clip them off way up high.
