I have no idea what this is but damned f I don’t want to eat all of it.

Looks good, love Kunefe. We have the same dish in Turkey (the video you shared is actually from a Turkish source but I’m guessing the way its made / looks is the same)

Looks very nice and delicious! I have only eaten the Turkish version so far, whose top layer is made of thin strips of kadayif and is supposed to be quite crispy. The Syrian variant here looks as if the kadayif is a bit finer and less crisp. Is it how it is made? Or is the top layer not kadayif and something else?

  4. Holy shite that cheese stretch looks amazing
But were those ladles of oil in the beginning…? Looks like it had questionable healthiness

I’m lactose intolerant but I *need* to try this.

My sister and I learned to make this. It was even more delicious than baklava.

  7. Knafeh! For those who are lactose intolerant: I am too, and this has NEVER set it off!

Now I’m just looking for a gf version XD

Man, that looks good! Once this virus blows over I’m gonna have to take time off work to travel around. This sub has really opened my eyes to all the wonderful street food out there.

Kunafa is one of the greatest foods in the Middle East. The addition of sugar water and rose water packs on the pounds though!
So who is laying claim to baklava, another awesome dessert?😀

How you gonna call it Nabulsi and Syrian at the same time? Knafeh is a Nabulsi delight! We made it!

Best kunefe I ever had was in the bekaa valley, Lebanon, next to Syria at this fancy restaurant overlooking the vineyards. My god the cheese stretch was almost pornographic. I don’t know if this was because of the local variation, the tartness of the sheep’s cheese or what, but it was by no means excessively sweet.
