Apprehensive?! Google it, then grow up and try it because it is delicious!

Not a fan personally, it’s great for when you’re sick though. A little bland as well, gotta dip the chicken in some salt/pepper.

I’ve tried this and it’s great. Super flavorful and isn’t bland. Enjoy!

  6. It’s just chicken soup. No need to be afraid.

Imagine needing to create a reddit post before you’re confident enough to try a grocery store chicken soup

Give them a break, it’s a foreign product to them. We know it’s basic ass chicken soup, but they may think there’s crazy things going on because it’s Korean. No biggie.

It’s absolutely fantastic! I just tried it the other day and basically wept lol it was so comforting

Haven’t had this brand, but Samgyetang is delicious

  14. bo_reddude

That packaged samgyetang? No. But if it’s what I think it is, it’s a whole chicken stew with its cavity stuffed with jujube, glutinous rice, and ginseng, though ginseng might be boiled separately.

To prepare it, I guess you can just warm it up. Not sure how intact the whole thing will be sei as how it’s packaged. To get an idea how samgyetang looks, just Google it. Maangchi has a nice recipe too.

Typically, it’s served with salt and pepper on a dish. Like it would add salt and pepper on a small plate, and then you peel the chicken flesh from various places of the chicken, and dip the flesh to pick up a tiny bits of salt and pepper at once before eating.

You can add kimchi like radish kimhi, cucumber kimchi, etc to cut against the fattiness, and eat it with rice. Given how it’s packaged, I’m sure people will just eat the entire samgyetang on its own by itself.

The soft skin might be a little much for westerners. Otherwise, I’m sure it’s delicious!

It’s delicious! Add salt and pepper

  17. KorukoruWaiporoporo

Korean chicken soup is delicious. It’s one of the dishes I remember the most fondly from when I lived over there. Worth a try.

  18. It’s delicious, and very healthy. I crave it a lot when I’m feeling sick, basically the chicken noodle soup of Korea

  19. WindjammerX

I like to dip the chicken meat in a small pile of salt and pepper (like 2:1 ratio). But it’s supposed to be good for you. My mom usually gets it for me when I’m sick.

  20. IRLperson

why? that sounds delicious and easy to customise

  21. tarantulan

It’s delicious! My mom would buy this when the whole family was sick and nobody had energy to cook.

It’s really good with extra rice.

  22. Pixelated-chicken

Its so basic wtf are you apprehensive of?

  23. Serious-Fondant1532

That’s a whole boiled chicken. put it in the freezer and eat it later.

  24. taewongun1895

I love the homemade version. Give it a try.

  25. One-Bend4374

It’s excellent, and very good for you. Great when you’re sick with cold or flu!

Its funny how divided these comments are. I was imagining people mostly describing the flavor profile, what to pair it with etc… and some people have been very helpful in making suggestions (eat with kimchi, use salt and pepper with the chicken, consider adding rice.)

On the other hand im apparently racist for being hesitant to try a product that ive never seen, tasted or have any comparison to. 🤣
