They are 6 feet tall and starting to think one was all I needed. I have three tomato cages wired together and stacked up for support. I've already trimmed it some so I can actually see what it has. Can I just lop the tops off? I don't want it getting much taller than 8 feet.

You can lop them off but they’ll keep growing. Sungolds are like the blackberries of the tomato world. They are aggressive. If you lop them off they will probably fill out even more. I have a 12 foot tall trellis and they reach the top or just under every year because I direct their growth vertically.
Holy cow, youre going to have tomatoes forever.
I always have a minimum of 2 sungolds. Sometimes I do 3.
During the peak of the season, I want to be able to go outside and eat 10-20 a day. Sometimes more.
With an indet cherry variety, once they’re at a decent size you can usually just hack off whatever you like & it won’t hurt them a bit, more often than not.
They’re extremely forgiving — you can basically treat them as you would an ornamental hedge or shrub (like….you can literally use a hedgetrimmer on them to “shape” the plant, and they don’t mind it much)
6 feet is only like medium high for those guys, they’ll keep going for sure!
When the season really hits and you ha e kore than you can eat or give away start freezing them! They’re awesome thrown in soups or eggs!
