This is when the strawberry got confused whether it wanted to produce a bunch of seeds in a cluster upon cluster or just make 1 berry. Totally normal for them

Honestly this looks super cool. I’ve had more mutations on strawberries than any other thing I’ve grown, which isn’t saying much since it’s our first year but we do have 10 different producing plants? I had a strawberry grow a second smaller strawberry on it that kind of looked like a red blueberry

So, is your strawberry producing seeds, and then those seeds are germinating and rooting in the strawberry?

When this happened to one of my strawberry plants I removed the entire plant. It sieved the problem.

You didn’t, the plant did. Happens now and then, nothing to worry about

I think it’s [vivipary.](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vivipary)

If you’re able to make that happen, I’d be impressed 😂. I concur with the others, definitely not your fault!!
Are any nearby flowers showing symptoms? If so it’s unlikely but possibly aster yellows disease
It’s not you, it’s vivipary!
