Hey guys was reverse searing a tomahawk and walked inside to get my thermometer. Heard what sounded like a bomb going off and came out to this. Egg was at 550. What in the gosh dang heck do I do now?

Warranty. How fast did you heat it to temp? Probably had water in the ceramic.

This is why I always cringe at people posting questions asking if a used egg is a good deal. Warranty is key with ceramics!

I purchased new from hardware store a couple of years ago on Father’s Day. They swore lifetime warranty and they came and installed it. Will call on Tuesday. Some of the pieces hit my fence at very high velocity. My son was just out there playing soccer with me keeping me company. We are so lucky.

There another hole on the back the same size. Maybe a little larger

That has to be eggceptionally rare. Glad no one was standing next to it.

    Damn. Never seen that!

Probably scared the f*ck out of you if you were by it. If you walked up and discovered I’m sure it took a couple of confused minutes to figure it out

    That crazy!

I wonder if BGE will want it back to investigate?

That’s a really interesting failure mode.

Wow what the fu^k 😂 That’s the craziest thing I’ve heard of yet.

  9. I’ve never seen a more obvious and easily approved warranty claim.
