Do you have something to celebrate soon? Why not make it an Italian party? There is always a good reason for an Italian-style party. Because you are an Italophile, because you are emigrating to Italy, because it is Italian week at Lidl or because you are going on holiday to Italy this summer.
You don’t really need a reason to have an Italian party. With Italy as a theme, you can’t go wrong. Italian snacks, Italian drinks, some Italian flair and Italian music. Who wouldn’t love that?

1. The invitation
Get your guests excited about you right away Italian holiday with an Italian style invitation. Use colors like red, white and green, and decorate the invitation with images of Vespas, wine glasses, the Colosseum or a pizza.

2. The location
Of course you can organize an Italian party anywhere, but some locations fit the atmosphere extra well. Otherwise you transform them until you achieve the desired atmosphere.
Think of a beautiful garden with long tables under atmospheric string lights. With a few rented olive trees and some furniture you can transform your terrace into a real Terrace. Or turn your living room into an Italian bistro.

3. The decoration
Bring Italy to life with the right decoration. Hang lanterns or fairy lights, decorate tables with bottles of Chianti as candlesticks, use red and white checked tablecloths and place pots of basil and olive trees. For a Tuscan atmosphere, choose earth tones and lots of wood, for a glamorous Venetian party, go for gold and masks.

Are you celebrating an Italian party for a birthday or wedding? Ask your guests to bring Italian-style gifts. Think of a nice bottle of Italian wine, a jar of homemade pesto, an Italian cookbook or even a miniature Vespa.
You can also think of a joint gift, such as a voucher for an Italian tasting. Conversely, you can also give your guests an Italian gift upon arrival or when they leave the party.

No Italian party is complete without delicious food! Serve antipasti such as bruschetta, olives, cheese and prosciutto. Set up a pasta bar with different sauces or let your guests make their own pizza. And don’t forget desserts: tiramisu, cannoli and panna cotta are always a hit.

9. The drinks
From Aperol Spritz to limoncello, Italian cuisine offers some great drinks. Serve festive prosecco upon arrival, set out carafes of red and white wine, and provide freshly brewed espressos after dinner. For the designated drivers and kids, serve San Pellegrino soft drinks or fresh lemonade.
