Not sure if you want advice, but after being disappointed for a month I realized I had gotten lazy with my dosing and was just doing 18g for every coffee. I was having inconsistent shots and having to grind SO fine for some beans. Then I suddenly had the “ah ha” moment and started overdosing and dialing in to find that perfect dose, and everything got so much easier and consistent.

How many holes are your basket ? I paired my mischief spirit with a paper filter and I can’t go back now

I feel this so deep in my bones. I think chasing the “perfect shot” is what keeps me coming back despite the frustration sometimes.
It blows my mind how much small things like humidity can change the shot characteristics day to day. Even the differences between two batches of the same bean from the same roaster.

Was doing 18g for the longest time, eventually started messing with dose and now using 18-20g depending on roast level. I’ve gotten much better results out of my BBP by upping dose for med roasts

This would happen to me often when I was using the Baratza ESP. It was infuriating. I have a different grinder now and it very rarely happens anymore

I stopped using the hopper and just single dose every day now, it seems to help with getting more consistent results since the beans don’t degrade as quickly.

I’m so glad I don’t have to dial light roasts for my ‘spresso.

Aeropress will do for these.
