The head of the Federal Drug Administration under Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has suggested that diabetics might be better served with a recipe book rather than insulin.

FDA Commissioner Marty Makary made these remarks during an appearance on Fox News’ Sunday Futures.

“Maybe we need to treat more diabetes with cooking classes, not just throwing insulin at people,” said Makary, who is known for his skepticism towards the COVID-19 vaccine.

“You know, scientists have been waving the flag for years, saying you’ve got to look at this body of scientific data, and the modern medical establishment really has been disconnected,” he added, as reported by the Daily Beast, reports the Express US.

The American Diabetes Association notes that while healthcare professionals recommend diet control, insulin has also been prescribed as a safe and effective method of managing diabetes for over a hundred years.

Makary highlighted a report from the Make America Healthy Again Commission, which President Donald Trump’s administration released earlier this week. The report urged federal agencies to urgently investigate various threats to children’s health.

This includes exposure to chemicals and vaccines deemed harmful by Kennedy.

Makary expressed his enthusiasm about the report, stating that he “could not be more excited”.

“This report is a fresh new approach that really calls for a transformation of our healthcare system from a reactionary system to a proactive system,” he elaborated.

Kennedy has often been criticized for spreading misinformation about vaccines and autism.

He was just recently slammed for seemingly blaming parents for their children’s autism, following his contentious statements that implied autism is a “preventable disease” despite scientific evidence to the contrary.

“We have to recognize we are doing this to our children, and we need to put an end to it,” Kennedy, the Health and Human Services Secretary, stated at a news briefing.

In a sit-down with Dr. Phil McGraw, Kennedy suggested that parents ought to “do their own research” regarding vaccinations after erroneously asserting that scientists are unsure if the measles, mumps, and rubella vaccine might lead to serious adverse effects like brain inflammation.

These assertions have been thoroughly disproven by the scientific community.

Kennedy essentially pointed fingers at parents for choosing to vaccinate their kids, linking it directly to autism.

“You research the baby stroller, you research the foods that they’re getting, and you need to research the medicines that they’re taking as well,” he expressed.

Additionally, Kennedy labeled autism as a “preventable disease,” though experts and academics have pinpointed genetics as a factor involved in its development. Autism is not deemed a disease, but a complex disorder influencing the brain.
