Joseph L. Knott was a proud Army soldier and Yuma native who gave his life in service to his country. Knott, just 21 years old, was killed in action on April 17, 2005, while serving in Iraq. He wasn’t originally scheduled for the mission that day, but as a natural leader, he volunteered. His convoy came under attack, and he was killed only two and a half months into his deployment.
