Where can I find arroz, porotos y plátano with carne or pollo guisado in Austin?
Chipotle, and Cabo Bobs do not offer sweet plantains with their rice bowl 🙁
Accompanying rice and beans with plantains are common in Caribbean food. Any Caribbean foos restaurants in Austin?

the one place i’ll tell you to avoid is Habana on S Congress. crazy expensive and poor enough quality where you would be upset even if it was cheap

I had a Cuban sandwich and tostones from Tropicana Cuba off North Lamar & Rundberg that were great. Habana Restaurant I went to many times but not in the last 2 years, I liked the atmosphere and food was the best Cuban style in Austin I could find at the time.
There is also a Cuban Grocery store that just opened off of Justin Ln & Burnett in the shopping center next to Lala’s Bar if you want to DIY.
I am looking forward to hearing what others have found!

Porotos?

As people have said Cuba 512, Tropicana Cuba (bring the glock), and Gloria’s (kind of can get you there).
I got sick and tired of missing certain dishes that I just learned to make them myself. I use a combo of my grandma’s recipes and tweak them.

Ohh men! With black beans and fulll llanero cheese and 1 fried egg…
Try Casa Colombia in East 7th, ask for Bandeja Paisa. For entry ask for Tequenos y for dessert a Tres Leches.
You’ll thank me later.
