Wind Creek Chicago Southland Casino & Resort has opened the highly anticipated Alto, the signature Italian steakhouse crafted by renowned celebrity chef Fabio Viviani. Alto promises an unforgettable dining experience, blending panoramic views, premium steaks, and modern Italian cuisine—marking a significant milestone in the resort’s evolution as a premier destination for world-class gaming, exceptional wellness offerings and unparalleled dining experiences.
Over the past twelve months, Wind Creek Chicago Southland has unveiled its state-of-the-art casino, luxury hotel, spa, and now, Alto. This highly anticipated signature restaurant provides an exceptional high-end dining experience—offering stunning skyline views, bold Italian flavors, and world-class hospitality, bringing a Chicago-caliber culinary destination to the Southland region, according to a release.
Located on top of the hotel’s 17th floor, Alto offers an elevated dining journey featuring expertly grilled steaks, fresh seafood, and house-made pastas—including squid ink lumache with frutti di mare, pistachio-crusted lamb chops, and lobster fra diavolo. The ambiance is sleek and refined, designed to match the panoramic backdrop and the menu’s contemporary flair.
“With Alto, we’re elevating guests’ dining experience by delivering refined flavors and exceptional hospitality in one of the most dynamic dining rooms in Chicagoland,” said Chef Fabio Viviani. “It’s approachable elegance with vibrant character—exactly what the Southland deserves.”
Viviani, a Top Chef alum and longtime Chicago favorite, entered a multi-concept partnership with Wind Creek Hospitality in 2023. In addition to Alto, Viviani’s team oversees several on-property venues including Shuck It, a seafood and oyster bar, and contributes to the resort’s food hall, banquets, and in-room dining programs.
“This is a milestone moment for Wind Creek Hospitality—not just for our resort, but for the region,” said Roger Kuehn, Executive Vice President and General Manager of Wind Creek Chicago Southland. “From the beginning, we set out to raise the bar for what’s possible in the Southland, and with Alto, we’re proud to help redefine Chicago’s culinary edge just beyond the city skyline.”
Alongside Alto, Guests will find a diverse lineup of taste for every palate. Wind Creek’s Food Bazaar features six unique venues including Abuela Cocina, Salt and Sea, Burgers’n Wiches, Bottega, Southern District, and Sugar Lips—additional options include Shuck It, the resort’s lively oyster bar; The Spot, a quintessential American diner; and Ivory, offering modern Asian cuisine.
