Tying sustainability to supply chain value

Jaén is a key production hub for extra virgin olive oil, an ingredient used in PepsiCo’s Alvalle gazpacho products.

In 2024, all of Alvalle’s olive oil came from Jaén through local cooperative partnerships. By investing in farming improvements in the region, PepsiCo secures its ingredient supply while also contributing to local heritage and employment.

VivaOliva is designed with future growth in mind. Though it begins in Jaén, the initiative is built to expand into other regions experiencing similar environmental and social pressures.

Implementation partners such as The Earthworm Foundation, The Sustainable Smallholder (TSS) and The Regen Academy contribute expertise in ethical sourcing and regenerative methods.

With growing demand for sustainable ingredients and climate-ready production systems, PepsiCo is aligning its supply operations with community resilience and agricultural innovation.

“Through VivaOliva, we work shoulder-to-shoulder with farmers in Jaén, combining traditional knowledge with regenerative agriculture tailored to local conditions.”
