Got a KJ classic 2 I think from
My friend. Went to replace the gasket and now the lid doesn’t shut all the way. Not sure what to do, the internet says to loosed the “hinge adjustment nut”, I think mine is too old to have that? Supposed to be 5 years old ish. Great condition but the gasket was needing replacement. Now what do I do? Anyone help?

If the original gasket was the older style felt, that’s what you need to replace it with. You will need to raise that hinge to make room for the thicker, newer style gasket material. I don’t think it can be done with that hinge unit, you’d need to raise both bands.
That’s a classic 1, not 2. The 2 has a completely different hinge system.
Most likely you need to loosen the bands, refit and tighten.
It is hard to see where the gap is exactly, but if I were you, I’d take some better pics and email kj support for guidance. They should be able to tell you which band to refit and the exact stages. The main issue is that you can get stuck with the bands in open position.
This is way older than 5 years and definitely not classic 2. Unless they got a bunch of custom parts? I’m super sad that they didn’t stick with the chromed out version though.
