This year is my first time growing any veg and I just harvested my batch of new potatoes — buzzing with the result!
Details:
* Location: North West, England
* Chitted: Started early Feb
* Sown: 9th March, 3 per container
* Harvested: Today, 28th May
* Grown in: 30L containers
* Mix: 60% compost / 30% coir / 10% perlite
* Feed: Elixir Gardens Spuds Galore fertiliser
Really happy for a first try, although I did end up with a lot of tiny ones. Any tips on how to get fewer but bigger tubers next time around?

Top marks!
Those are beautiful plants. I see you asked about how you might get bigger ones next time, but you also mention that you are going for new potatoes. I think those are at odds. If you havest them as new potatoes – while the tops are still green and thriving – you will not get bigger spuds but you will get what you got (small cute, ready fast but not storable, small potatoes). Next time you might leave a set growing until the foliage is totally fallen over and yellow /brown. You should get bigger potatoes and they can be stored much better too.
Nice,spuds:)
Well done! Awesome details 👌 I’m on my first bag myself no sprouts yet. I’m hopeful
Nice!!!
