After nearly 50 years at the helm of the iconic Kosher Quality bakery on Victoria Avenue in Côte des Neiges, David Klein has decided to sell the business to Simi Wenger and the Fooderie Market, which opened eight years ago on Avenue du Parc.
Wenger said he grew up on the same street, so the purchase is akin to a childhood dream.
He plans to modernize it and likely keep the same name, possibly Kosher Quality by Fooderie.
Mr. Klein told me he will only semi-retire and stay on part-time for the immediate future. Wenger, meanwhile, has designs on opening a Fooderie in South Florida.
