Is it better/easier to flood the whole strawberry first and then add the eyes and mouth on top once it dries, or do the eyes and mouth first and then flood the strawberry around it after? I’ll most likely be using edible markers for the finer black lines. Thanks!

    So unless you want to mess around with black frosting I suggest actually doing frosting transfers (which are basically large sprinkles). Pipe the eyes and mouth in white dyed frosted (to prevent bleeding) on food grade plastic sheets, wax, or parchment paper. Then when those are fully dry, add the black details with an edible black marker. Then add those to a freshly flooded red cookie. You can do transfers dry on dry but you have to have really smooth cookies and really smooth frostings for it not have a weird edge sticking up.
