INGREDIENTS:
1 can of sweetened condensed milk
1 cup of heavy cream (optional)
2 tbsp of butter
4 tbsp of cacao powder 50%
Sprinkles
HOW TO MAKE:
Mix all the ingredients, except the sprinkles, in a saucepan until they boil and come away from the bottom of the pan. Place on a plate, cover with plastic wrap, and refrigerate until cold and firm.
Grease your hands with butter and make small balls with your hands, place them in the sprinkles, and set aside. Done!

Hi everyone, my name is Be. I’m a cook from Brazil and this is the second episode of recipe for gringoes. Today we are making a famous sweet treat from Brazil that is very seen on birthday parties and also in some events. The name is Briadu. To explain how Briadu is, it’s kind of like a chocolate caramel sweet. It’s shaped in a little ball and around there are some sprinkles on it. I think everybody will like it. It’s super super easy to do. So, let’s get into it. And the ingredients are one can of sweetened condensed milk, 1 cup of heavy cream, 2 tbspoons of unsalted butter, 4 tablespoons of cacao powder, 50% and sprinkles. To make this sweet treat is super simple. You just have to mix all the ingredients less the sprinkles together on a pen. If it’s your first time doing brigade, you can do it in a low to medium heat. I know it takes a little bit more time, but it’s better so you won’t burn your brigade or anything like that. If you’re more like me and likes the taste of chocolate more, you can put more tablespoons of cacao powder or you can use chocolate coins. You can also use like milk chocolate, whatever you like. If you’re using chocolate, just have to melt it and put it together. When I was a kid, I used to like more of brigade when it was made with sweetened chocolate powder. But nowadays, I prefer much more with cacao. You can also use 70% cacao, you can use 50%. For me, since the sweetened condensed milk is already very sweet, the cacao powder breaks a little bit of that sweetness and it makes more flavorful for me. If you ask me if you can do it with margarine instead of butter, you can too. But also remember that when it gets cold, the margarine is still like soft, so it’s harder to make the ball shape. Please also remember that you have to keep stirring all the time. You can leave it there. So pay attention on it and keep stirring it. How can I know briadeo it’s done? When it starts to boiling, it gets like big bubbles. And when you flip the pan, it doesn’t stick on the bottom. You’ll see the briade will get a very firm texture. Now we will put the briadeo on a plate, cover with foam plastic, and put on a fridge for a few hours. So when it gets colder, we can make the little balls. Just like with pujing, you can also make different flavors of briade. Here in Brazil, we have the coconut flavor. It’s white chocolate and the coconut. And we call beino like little kiss. We also have strawberry flavor like white chocolate and strawberry and it’s called bugs feet like bishu jip. You can find some gourmet versions too like lemon mering pie or berries cheesecake. You can use your imagination and do your own and I promise you it will be a success in your birthday parties or events or even if you just want to make some treats for your guests. So, it’s good that you use a little bit of butter or margarine on your hands and spread on it. You can grab the same spoon, a little bit of the briadeu and shape into a ball and flip it here.
