First time gardener here! I planted this bell pepper plant a few weeks ago and it was fine but a couple of days ago the leaves started turning black – the new leaves are also going black on the tips 💀 Is my plant okay or do I need to get rid of the black leaves?

Your plant is essentially getting a suntan, it’s harmless (and kinda looks cool) and will generally fade out as it continues to grow. If it starts to look stressed, give it some afternoon shade

Anthocyanin production. It gives the leaves a bit more toughness against the sun.

Is that a baccatum species? What type of pepper plant? I love my purple plants. They get moody with too much direct sun, but absolutely beautiful..

The first two people were correct, it is developing Anthocyanin for sun block.
